Lawyer Denton Wilde Saptes (DWS) planning division and Leeds-based law firm Wilbraham & Co have joined forces to launch CoAxis, which they claim will be the UKs largest dedicated legal planning team.
The 22-strong team has already put out tenders for work and has been short-listed for one project.
It will offer legal advice on planning issues, focusing on major UK infrastructure and regeneration projects, as well as public inquiries.
