Bryan Laxton is to retire from Cushman & Wakefield and leave the firm at the end of the month.
The former chief executive has been at the company for 34 years and led the UK capital markets team before taking on the role of UK chief executive. He became UK chief executive at the start of 2009 until the end of 2013 when Digby Flower took up the reins, having steered C&W through the nadir of the market.
Laxton now plans to spend more time with his family in East Anglia and intends to take up some non-executive appointments in the charity sector.
Carlo Barel di Sant’Albano, chief executive of Cushman & Wakefield EMEA, said: “Bryan has made an outstanding contribution to the firm over a long and successful career. He leaves with our immense gratitude and very best wishes for the future.”
