West End and North London investor Chris Lazari was given a Lifetime Achievement Award at today’s Props lunch.
Other winners at the star-studded event included Lord Coe and the “Pub Landlord,” Al Murray.
The Props, which raised nearly £250,000 for Variety, the children’s charity, saw winners named in 12 categories.
Lazari, whose investments centre around Tottenham Court Road, Euston Road and Baker Street, said he hoped he could go for “another 50 years”.
Jones Lang LaSalle won Deal of the Year for its merger with King Sturge last year. Westfield won Outstanding Development for its Stratford centre, while the Olympic Park’s Lord Coe picked up the Most Significant Contribution to London award.
Al Murray, “the Pub Landlord”, was named Occupier of the Year, accepted the trophy by thanking the audience of “some of the most hated people in Britain – estate agents, bankers and lawyers”. He proceeded to lead the 750 guests in a rendition of “Incy Wincy Spider”.
Neil Sinclair and Ronnie Nathan, the driving forces behind the Props, were both given a special award.
Other winners were: Property Lender of the Year: Kevin Sale, Aviva; Most Promising Newcomer: Andrew Perlott, Panther Securities; International Award: John Hitchcox, yoo; Entrepreneur Award: Natie Kirsh; Young Property Person: Matt Finn of Finn & Co; Property Fund of the Year: Threadneedle.
