Le Pain Quotidien collapses for second time

The UK operation of Le Pain Quotidien has fallen into administration for the second time since the pandemic.

BrunchCo UK, the owner of the Belgian boulangerie chain, has appointed Kroll Advisory to handle the insolvency after a sale process failed to produce any viable offers.

The business ceased trading last week and its nine establishments, eight in London and one in Oxford, closed immediately. A tenth site, at St Pancras International in London, is held by a separate company, SPQ Holdings, and is still trading.

BrunchCo was set up in June 2020 to acquire 16 of Le Pain Quotidien’s 26 UK outlets in a pre-pack administration.
