Avant Homes has submitted plans for 192 new homes on a 17-acre site which forms a part of the first phase of the Skelton Gate regeneration scheme near Leeds.
The £60m residential scheme will feature two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, of which 15% will be designated affordable housing. If plans are given the green light, groundworks are set to begin this autumn, with the first homes expected to be ready in spring 2023.
Skelton Gate is a former open cast colliery site owned by Templegate Developments, the joint venture partnership of Evans Property Group and Keyland Developments. It has planning consent in place for 1,800 new homes as well as primary and secondary schools, public open space, a local centre and a convenience store.
The Skelton Gate development is the second Leeds-based acquisition for Avant Homes after it bought a 14.7-acre site in Carlton, on which it will build 129 new homes. It also has 172 homes under construction in nearby Micklefield.
