Trial periods have been set for legal action by the rooftop bar tenant at Centre Point, WC1, against the skyscraper’s owner, Almacantar.
Century Projects, operator of the Paramount bar, is suing its landlord, which has planning permission to convert the iconic office block into 82 flats in a £350m scheme.
A trial is set to be held in April 2015 to hear Century’s claim that Almacantar has breached a covenant by carrying out external works to the façade around the bar.
At a further hearing, expected between October and December 2015, the company will bring a claim against Mike Hussey’s Almacantar for breaching a serviced management plan.
Century is citing issues with a customer lift and restricted access to lifts that caused it to cancel events and incur losses.
Almacantar is vigorously defending both claims.
Paramount has a lease of more than 30 years.
In February, Century made an unsuccessful attempt to obtain an injunction to prevent Almacantar surrounding its premises with scaffolding and sheeting.
However, in June it was granted the right to appeal, which means Almacantar cannot put scaffolding or sheeting around Paramount’s premises until after the appeal is heard, which is expected in October or November.
