Lego assembles London footprint

Lego-office.jpegLego is expanding its London office presence by signing for 19,424 sq ft at Kirkbi’s 1 Plough Place, EC4.

The new space is adjacent to its current office in Kirkbi’s 8-10 New Fetter Lane, where it has 28,852 sq ft.

In the London main office, Lego introduced a “new way of working” in 2014, which the company says encourages collaboration and chance encounters that can spark new ideas and opportunities.

The new office layout is expected to follow the look and feel of the current office, and the work environment will also be according to “new way of working” standards.

The first employees are expected to move into the new office areas during the 4th quarter this year.

John Goodwin, executive vice president and chief financial officer for Lego, said: “The continued investment in London sends a clear signal that we consider it to be a great location for us, with access to a broad pool of talented employees.”

Last year the toymaker instructed JLL to find it a new 100,000 sq ft HQ in London. However, the firm later scaled back its plans, pulling out of talks to go to the Argent-led development of King’s Cross.
