David Church’s Leon Partners has scooped up three high-profile advisers as it begins to offer an alternative advisory platform to existing players.
David Erwin, formerly chief executive of UK Capital Markets at Cushman & Wakefield, has joined the business as a senior advisor. Specialising in capital markets advisory, Erwin adds to the founding partners’ backgrounds in investment banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
In addition, Patrick Sumner joins the start-up from Henderson Global Investors, where he was head of global property equities. Sumner was instrumental in the setting up of EPRA, the trade body for listed real estate and its associated FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Global Index.
Philip Walker is the third addition to the business and specialises in the valuation development and investment advisory markets.
In the past Walker had been head of fund valuations for Knight Frank.
Leon Partners was set up by David Church alongside former BAML colleague Rajan Somchand earlier this year to offer advisory services across real estate without the conflicts of interest normally associated with large banking groups.
