Tribe Development’s plans to redevelop Scott House at 185 Grove Street, SE8, have been recommended for approval by Lewisham Council’s planning committee.
The proposals feature partial demolition of the existing part three/ part four-storey building with the retention of the façade and construction of a 31-storey building that would provide 502 student beds, of which 35% would be affordable, alongside 11,539 sq ft of workspace.
There will be a mix of student housing types, including 180 studios and 322 cluster bedrooms. The studios would provide a bathroom, kitchenette and desk space, while cluster rooms would not be equipped with a kitchen area but would have sufficient space for a desk.
Amenity spaces, measuring a total of 6,921 sq ft, would be provided on the ground, second, third and roof floor levels, alongside 6,415 sq ft of external space. An ancillary café would be located within the ground floor student lobby.
