Leyshon and Lewis win LandAid run

VIDEO: Wedlake Bell’s Marc Leyshon and Trowers & Hamlins’ Dwynwen Lewis were the fastest male and female in last night’s LandAid 10km Summer Run.

Leyshon crossed the line first in a time of 34.40, closely followed by Tom Carpenter of Burges Salmon.

Lewis held on to her title from last year, winning the women’s event in 41.21mins.

More than 750 professionals from the property and construction industries competed in Regent’s Park to raise money for disadvantaged young people.

The event, in its 19th year, has become one of the property industry’s most popular sporting challenges.

Andrew Mercer of Capita was crowned fastest male over 40 with a time of 34.57, while Evelyn Mullins of Broadgate Estates took the title of fastest female in the same category, completing the course in 42.51.  Burges Salmon was awarded the Fastest Team prize.

Paul Morrish, LandAid chief executive, said:  “It was my first 10k and it really, really hurt! And it still does! But it’s looking to be our most successful LandAid Run ever.

“So, on behalf of everyone at LandAid, and all the projects we support, a massive thanks to everyone who helped us raise money by running yesterday, and who may still be recovering.”

LandAid hopes to raise £85,000 for disadvantaged young people. So far, it has achieved £50,000.
