Leytonstone house passes £1m mark for Barnard Marcus

A 10-bedroom house divided into flats in Leytonstone, E11, was one of the highest priced lots to sell at Barnard Marcus’s first auction of 2020.

The property, a house in multiple occupation which receives an annual income of £85,500, sold for £1.035m.

It was one of 204 lots offered by Barnard Marcus at its 3 February sale, of which a total of 131 sold, representing a 65% success rate and raising a total of £22.7m. Last year at its February sale, Barnard Marcus raised slightly more – £23.7m – from selling 127 lots after initially offering 187 lots, which equated to a 68% success rate.

Barnard Marcus’s next auction will take place on 9 March at the Grand Connaught Rooms, WC2.
