L&G buy seventh government hub in Stratford

Legal & General is to forward-fund its seventh government hub in Stratford, east London, where HMRC is taking 300,000 sq ft.

14 Westfield is being developed by Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield and is scheduled for completion in late 2020. HMRC have taken a 25-year lease.

Tom Roberts, head of strategic investment at Legal & General, said: “This deal is the latest in a line of successful acquisitions of such government-backed investments which have now surpassed the £1bn mark in the last year.”

Cushman & Wakefield, CBRE and HSF acted for Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield. Macfarlanes and JLL acted for Legal & General.
