Legal & General Capital has recruited Morgan Sindall Investments’ Wes Erlam (pictured) as director of urban regeneration.
Erlam will join on 6 April to lead the firm’s direct investment into regeneration projects, with a focus on joint ventures and public private partnerships.
He has more than 20 years of experience in land, development and investment and has worked at Morgan Sindall Group for more than 12 years.
Most recently, Erlam was managing director of Morgan Sindall Investments, overseeing investment and development capital activities. He was previously development director at MSI, and worked at sister company Muse Developments in Manchester for over a decade.
Legal & General has invested in 16 UK hubs, including a focus on science and innovation centres in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Erlam will work with the existing projects, as well as expanding to new locations.
Kerrigan Procter, chief executive of Legal & General Capital, said: “Legal & General is in a unique position to bring together long-term sources of capital with its deep asset creation, investment and structuring capabilities.
“We are investing billions of pounds in this way across the UK, in places such as Oxford, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield and Cardiff, working with local authority partners, as well as central government bodies and world-leading universities. But as our platform expands, so do our ambitions. Wes will lead this next stage of growth and delivery.”
