L&G invests in California campus expansion

Legal & General is investing $100m in the expansion of the University of California’s Merced County campus, its first such investment in the US.

Charles-Henry Lecointe, senior investment manager at LGIM Assets, the unit making the investment, said the company had built up a strong record in the space and continues to target transactions backed by economic and social infrastructure.

L&G has invested £8bn in UK infrastructure projects and is targeting total investments of up to £15bn.
