LGIM targets long-term tenancies at build-to-rent development

Legal & General Investment Management, the asset manager behind the Slate Yard residential development in Manchester, is hoping that more relaxed rules for the properties will encourage long-term tenants.

LGIM wants tenants to stay for three, four, five years, fund manager Dan Batterton said. When a tenant leaves, it is really expensive, he said.

LGIM has raised around £1bn in investment for build-to-rent properties.
