Liberty acquires Golden Triangle logistics site

A key development site in the UK logistics industry’s “Golden Triangle” in Northamptonshire has been acquired by Liberty Property Trust.

Brackmills will accommodate a development of approximately 200,000 sq ft of warehouse logistics accommodation.

Andrew Blevins, managing director of the UK arm of the US-based developer, said: “This site, in the Golden Triangle of the logistics sector, represents a rare prelet opportunity for an end user and will add to our growing UK warehouse and industrial portfolio, which amounts to 1.4m sq ft.  We also have 1.4m sq ft in the development pipeline located at strategic sites in Widnes, Worcester and Lichfield.”

Simon Holley, of development manager Equation Properties, said: “We are delighted to be working with Liberty to provide top quality warehouse logistics accommodation in a highly visible location – the former Howard Paper building – close to the M1, M6 and M42. The park is arguably the UK’s most established and has already attracted significant occupiers such as John Lewis, Wickes, Great Bear, Panasonic and Coca-Cola.”

The development is scheduled to start late 2017/early 2018.

DTRE and Burbage Realty are letting agents on the scheme.
