Demolition of Birmingham’s former central library has begun, part of a £500m redevelopment of the city’s Paradise Circus.
Offices and a hotel will be built on the site, while roads in the area will be rerouted, just one scheme in many revitalising Birmingham.
Plans for the future include the relocation of the city’s wholesale markets, creating a 34-acre brownfield site intended for mixed use.
