Lidl has bought a 7ha (17.25 acre) site at Gwent Europark in south Wales to build a 32,515 sq m (350,000 sq ft) distribution centre.
The German discount food retailer is believed to have paid Morrison Gwent around £2.93m for the site.
Located in Magor, the park totals 97ha (240 acres).
A development agreement has been made for Lidl to gain the freehold once the unit is built. A source close to the deal said: “Lidl has a retail presence in Wales and now needs a distribution centre to support this.
Jones Lang LaSalle and Hutchings & Thomas represented Morrison Gwent, while Edward Hardwick advised Lidl.
