Lifestyle venue to open at No.1 Circle Square

Music and events specialist BeSixth has taken 8,800 sq ft at No.1 Circle Square and will launch a new community lifestyle venue, Canvas Manchester.

The venue will consist of three areas: a 100-seat ground-floor restaurant called Canvas Kitchen, the Canvas Club private members’ facility, and a 400-capacity live music and events space called Canvas Events.

It marks the first location that BeSixth, which holds events at the Pickle Factory and Oval Space in east London, will launch outside of the capital.

Tom Renn, managing director, Bruntwood SciTech – Manchester, said: “Our ambition for Circle Square was always to create a destination – a place that would bring people together morning, day and night and a place that would become part of the fabric of the city. Somewhere tourists and innovators would see as a must-visit when coming to Manchester.”

Once finished, the Circle Square scheme will deliver 1,700 new homes, 1.2m sq ft of workspace and more than 100,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space.
