LaSalle Investment Management has appointed Roberto Carrera head of European financing.
Carrera will oversee borrowing and debt arrangements for LIM across Europe, focusing on key markets such as UK, France and Germany.
He will report to Jamie Lyon, director of finance and operations for LIM Europe.
Carrera joins LIM from PBB Deutsche Pfandbriefbank, where he had worked since 1996. He was employed in a variety of roles, including director of credit risk management, where he was responsible for underwriting structured real estate loans across Europe. As director of global workout, he led the restructuring of non-performing real estate loans in France, UK and Germany.
Lyon said: “Roberto joins at a challenging but interesting time when we are in the midst of an increasingly challenging and volatile debt and bank environment, where interest rates continue to rise, capital is constrained and liquidity is tight.
“He will be a very valuable addition to our team, adding to our strengths in both managing our existing loans, arranging new debt finance and expanding our lending relationships beyond traditional sources. Therefore, we are fortunate to attract someone with his level of experience at this exciting time.”
