Housebuilder Linden Homes has made its largest acquisition from its East Yorkshire division and secured a £180m development in Beverley.
The 90-acre site has been identified as a key growth area within the East Riding Local Plan. It will deliver 900 homes, comprising one-, two- and three-bedroom flats.
Development will also incorporate a £5m park-and-ride scheme for the town.
Work will start on site this month, with the first homes expected to complete in early 2020.
Linden Homes East Yorkshire land director Matthew Barker said: “This has been a complicated scheme that has required extensive negotiations with the local authority, landowners and agents over a number of years.
“This site will deliver a backbone to our business with up to 10 years of development and is the largest acquisition in the East Yorkshire business’s history.”
