Linden Homes has submitted a planning application for a 2,500 sq m (26,910 sq ft) Tesco store, as part of its £20m proposal for “The Village”, a mixed-use redevelopment of the 118-year-old Caterham Military Barracks in Surrey. Linden and Tesco have exchanged contracts on the scheme.
The urban village will centre on a mixed-use building of 3,500 sq m of offices (37,675 sq ft) and 240 sq m (2,583 sq ft) of further retail space.
Linden chief executive Phil Davies said: “The new retail and commercial centre with further integrate ‘The Village’ with the surrounding community of Caterham-on-the-Hill.”
