Strettons raised £11.7m at its first sale of the year, selling 83% of the properties offered.
The highest price of the day was achieved on a terrace of four Grade II listed properties on Cable Street, E1. Sold by Newlon Housing Trust, the property (pictured) achieved £3.2m against a guide price of £2.4m following very competitive bidding.
There was also strong bidding for another Grade II listed property – Soothill Manor and Soothill Lodge in Batley, West Yorkshire. The 19th century property was sold for £846,000 against a guide of £550,000. A third Grade II listed property, a vacant house in Whitechapel E1, sold for £806,000 against a guide of £750,000.
Commercial sales included a freehold investment in Walthamstow, E17, producing £21,500 pa, which sold for £615,000 against a guide price of £280,000, following very strong bidding. In Grays, Essex, a freehold investment producing £32,500 pa sold for £475,000 off a guide of £400,000, and in South Norwood, south London, a freehold shop and maisonette sold for £434,000 against a guide price of £300,000-plus.
