The government has blocked Macdonalds’ plans to demolish the home of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle by listing the building.
The burger chain and Pearl Insurance had intended to build a new 75-seat drive-through restaurant on the site of Liberton Bank House on the edge of Edinburgh.
The proposals had met with local oppotision
