Liverpool approves Blacklight’s PBSA proposals

Blacklight Capital Partners has been given the go-ahead for 202 student homes at 33 Devon Street in Liverpool.

The site comprises a partially constructed building which Blacklight plans to convert into an L-shaped eight-to-10 storey block. It was acquired from YPG late last year after construction of a proposed 164-bedroom scheme stalled in 2021.

This is the third half-built development Blacklight has taken over in Liverpool following the completion of projects started by Elliot Group and Mount Property Group. The former, known as Limelight, comprises 574 student homes, while the latter, known as Aura, features 999 student homes.

Broadgrove Planning & Development and Smith Young advised Blacklight on planning matters.
