A split has emerged between Liverpool City Council and the Merseyside Development Corporation over a proposed £200m shopping centre for the Chavasse Park development site.
Contracts have been signed with the Walton Group to begin work on the 74,320 sq m (800,000 sq ft) scheme. However, the council wants to build a media and technology centre with funding from the Millennium Commission.
