Liverpool FC scores West End office

Liverpool Football Club has signed a deal for its first London office to attract new commercial partners.

The Premier League club has signed a 10-year lease with Threadneedle and the Bedford Estates for 5,600 sq ft on the first floor of the Heal’s Building, WC1. Quoting rent is £65 per sq ft.

Part of the reason for opening the West End office is to strengthen ties with current commercial partners and to attract new deals.

Ian Ayre, chief executive of LFC, said: “As a partner, the only way to experience and understand Liverpool FC is to visit Anfield. However this new office, in one of the world’s financial capitals, will provide a great location to begin talks with potential sponsors and help us better provide for our partners.”

The deal follows Manchester City last year signing a deal with British Land for just over 7,000 sq ft at British Land’s 10 Brock Street , NW1, while Manchester United also has a presence in the West End with a lease for 11,579 sq ft at 5 Stratton Street in Mayfair, W1.

Central London office take-up has been buoyant so far this year, with 9m sq ft signed for, which is some 16% ahead of the same point last year and is already approaching the 10-year annual average of 9.2m sq ft, according to Cushman & Wakefield.

C&W advised Liverpool FC; Braham Good and Edward Charles & Partners acted for the landlord.
