Plans to convert a Victorian pumping station in Liverpool’s Stanley Dock into a high-end restaurant have been approved by Liverpool City Council.
Stanley Dock Properties will redevelop the Grade II* listed pumphouse into 4,400 sq ft of dining space able to seat up to 200 guests.
Designed by Darmody Architecture, the pumphouse’s entrance hall, boiler room, accumulator tower and engine room will become an open-plan chef’s kitchen, house dining space and a cocktail bar alongside lounge areas and guest cloakrooms.
The development is a part of the wider £250m Stanley Dock regeneration project, providing hotels, restaurants and homes.
Pat Power, director at Stanley Dock Properties, said: “We are currently reviewing the food offering, branding, interior fit-out and operator for the new restaurant, to be announced at a later date alongside details of when construction of the new eatery will begin and an anticipated opening date.”
