Liverpool regeneration body appoints chief executive

Liverpool Land Development Company (LLDC) has appointed Ian Hassall as its chief executive following the recent resignation of David Waugh. Hassall, the former head of development and new projects at Liverpool council, will take up the role at the beginning of June. LLDC was set up in April 2003 as a joint initiative by the Northwest Regional Development Agency, English Partnerships and Liverpool council to target regeneration projects on the outskirts of Liverpool city centre. LLDC Chairman, Mike Shields CBE, said: “We are now entering a very important period for the organisation both in terms of the progress of our key projects and planning the transition from LLDC to the new ‘Liverpool plc’ which is due to become operational on 1st April 2008.”
