Liverpool’s Metquarter announces new tenants

Developer Milligan has announced a line-up of new tenants for its Metquarter retail scheme in central Liverpool.

Diesel, Guess and Kate Kuba will open stores in the autumn, after Peter Werth, Toni & Guy Opticians, Firetrap, Paperchase and Parchment open during the summer.

These openings take the total number of retailers to 30.

Additionally, Miss Sixty, Energie, Replay, LK Bennett, Samsonite, Fossil and Tommy Hilfiger are all in talks with the developer for space at the scheme.

Milligan says footfall at the Metquarter has topped 1m since its March opening.

John Milligan, head of Milligan, said: “I have been delighted by the success of Metquarter to date and the fact that our strategies for the design, letting and function of the centre are generating real results and benefits for the retailers and customers who use it.

“We are continuing to attract interest from potential brands and are looking for exactly the right fit as we complete the lettings on the centre.”

Milligan told EG earlier this year that the company had no desire to sell the scheme in the short term.

Milligan is backed by US retail magnate JW Kaempfner and West Midlands-based Richardson Developments.
