Liverpool city council will next week consider plans to purchase the Homes and Communities Agency’s Edge Lane building in order to unlock a deal for a £25m TV and film studio.
Capital & Centric would develop the project, taking ownership of the site on a 250-year lease.
The site has been vacant for more than 10 years. A plan for a 100,000 sq ft office project including a hotel were abandoned recently.
Creative companies and the Liverpool Theatre School would occupy the block, which would provide a 25,000 sq ft sound stage.
