Cliveden House Hotel in Berkshire, one of von Essen Hotels’ most iconic hotels, has been sold to Ian and Richard Livingstone.
Administrators at Ernst & Young are thought to have sold the hotel for £30m.
Cliveden will undergo a multi-million-pound investment programme.
Some 20 von Essen Hotels have now been sold, including the Thorn Island Napoleonic Fort in Pembrokeshire.
Chris Day, international managing director of Christie + Co, said: “The sale of Cliveden is the pinnacle of our work to date on behalf of the administrators of von Essen Hotels. This renowned hotel has a new owner who will make complete the investment required to meet the growing demands of the international leisure and corporate customers of the business.
