LLDC partners with Ballymore for Stratford Waterfront development

The London Legacy Development Corporation has formed a 50/50 partnership with Ballymore to develop 1,175 homes at two waterfront sites in east London.

The jv will deliver 600 mixed-tenure homes at Stratford Waterfront, E15, 35% of which will be affordable. A further 575 homes, with 50% affordable, will be built as part of the Bridgewater Triangle masterplan, which received outline consent from the LLDC’s planning committee earlier this week.

Stratford Waterfront is a 2.4-acre brownfield site located to the south of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. In addition to the residential element, the development will offer ground-floor retail and commercial space, which will be occupied by BBC Music, Sadler’s Wells, V&A, and UAL’s London College of Fashion.

Residents will benefit from sporting and cultural attractions, revitalised waterways, parkland and good transport links to central London and airports.

Rosanna Lawes, LLDC executive director of development, said: “Ballymore brings great expertise and proven regeneration credentials to help create thriving new communities with well-designed, sustainable homes to meet all needs.”

Ballymore Group managing director John Mulryan added: “Ballymore has been strategically focused on large-scale strategic partnerships with public bodies and this joint venture aligns with that goal.”

The partners aim to complete the residential development at Stratford Waterfront by 2028.
