Annual house price growth in London is the lowest in five years, while price rises elsewhere have slowed sharply from last year’s average.
London house prices rose by 3.7% on the year in February, the lowest figure since April 2012, and were 0.9% lower on the month, figures from the Office for National Statistics showed.
Prices in the UK as a whole rose by 5.8% on the year, an increase on January’s 5.3% rise. The figure for January was revised down from the originally reported 6.2% increase. Last year’s average increase was 7.3%.
