National Amusements’ luxury cinema brand Showcase Cinema de Lux has secured its first London site.
It has agreed to open a 1,900-seat, 11-screen cinema at Hammerson’s £50m leisure extension at Centrale in Croydon. The development will also include two stores and eight new restaurants for popular dining brands.
Screen giant National Amusements has more than 950 movie screens in the US, UK and Latin America and operates under its Showcase, Multiplex and Showcase Cinema de Lux brands.
The group’s Cinema de Lux has already opened at two of Hammerson’s shopping centres in Leicester and Bristol.
Lawrence Hutchings, Hammerson managing director UK retail said: “The new brand will deliver an unparalleled entertainment experience for our visitors, delivering the very latest blockbuster films in surroundings that complement the new leisure offer for Centrale.”
