London has 45 skyscrapers-worth of spare space

The amount of vacant office space in London has leapt by 50% since the start of the pandemic.

According to figures reported in the Times this morning, the capital had around 20m sq ft available in the early months of 2020. That has now risen to 31m sq ft, the equivalent of 45 Walkie Talkie buildings.

Office availability levels in the capital previously peaked at 28m sq ft in the aftermath of the global financial crisis.
