The mayor of London must implement a strategic transport plan for the capital that looks 5-10 years ahead, writes Gerry Archer, senior partner in KPMG’s London Office, in The Daily Telegraph.
Archer, who is also chairman of the London First Business Manifesto project, says the transport plan must take in all aspects, including the Thames.
He stresses the importance of the need for a fifth terminal at Heathrow as part of a long-term strategy for airport capacity. He says all these things are needed if London is to build on its role as a world commercial centre.
