CG Restaurants has bought landmark London restaurant Tuttons in Covent Garden, WC2, from landlord Covent Garden London.
The group, which has managed Tuttons on behalf of CapCo’s Covent Garden London since 2004, plans a major refurbishment of the 6,400 sq ft traditional brasserie restaurant and adjoining basement cocktail bar Dirty Martini.
Hugh Fowler, managing director of CG Restaurants, said: “The location on the corner of the Covent Garden Piazza is second to none. As Covent Garden London continues its excellent work to enhance the area, we have exciting plans to transform Tuttons to appeal to the changing demographics of the Covent Garden visitor.”
Sarah-Jane Curtis, director at Covent Garden London added: “We are looking forward to the relaunch of both Tuttons and Dirty Martini following the redesign. The investment in both businesses by CG Restaurants is fantastic news for the neighbourhood as we continue to attract new and exciting retail and food and dining brands to the area.”
Russell Sage Studios, whose past projects include Zetter Townhouse and Gordon Ramsey’s Petrus, has been appointed to carry out the redesign and refurbishment
