London Square acquires £180m development site

London Square has acquired a site in Crayford, south east London, to deliver a £180m development providing 559 homes.

The former Electrobase site will be London Square’s first tenure-blind development. Square Roots, London Square’s independent registered provider, will provide the affordable element of the scheme.

Of the 559 homes, 240 homes are for shared ownership and social rent.

The site was acquired from Purelake New Homes and Skillcrown Homes, which received planning permission for the site from the London Borough of Bexley earlier this month.

The 18-acre former factory site on Maxim Road is located close to Crayford town centre.

Adam Lawrence, chief executive of London Square, said: “Our latest acquisition shows our commitment to Greater London to provide much-needed new homes in Crayford.

“This will be our first site where one team will be looking after all customers, whether affordable through Square Roots or private for-sale, demonstrating our ethos that we will provide everyone with a high-quality home and service, irrespective of tenure.”
