Longbridge regeneration gets HQ boost

St Modwen has unveiled plans for a major new headquarters building which forms a key part of the £70m transformation of Longbridge town centre.

The regeneration specialist has submitted a planning application for the 105,000 sq ft One Park Square, a four-storey office block that will overlook the three-acre Austin Park and the second phase of Longbridge town centre, which is now under construction.

Phase two will house the Midlands’ largest Marks & Spencer store, alongside retail, restaurant and café space.

Aimed at a major corporate occupier, One Park Square will have 150 car park spaces. The company has also submitted a separate planning application for up to 215 family homes, located close to both the town centre and the new £35m ExtraCare retirement village.

Mike Murray, senior development surveyor at St Modwen, said: “The submission of these two planning applications marks the further phase of our £1bn Longbridge regeneration.”

St Modwen aims to deliver a total of 2,000 new homes together with employment and retail facilities to support up to 10,000 jobs at Longbridge over the next 15 years.

Longbridge has already seen £300m worth of investment by St Modwen since regeneration began in 2005.
