Environmental consultancy Longevity Partners has opened a new office in Tokyo, Japan.
The office, which will act as an Asian headquarters for the business, marks its ninth international office since it was established in 2015, joining Paris, London, Munich, Amsterdam, Milan, Austin, Seattle and New York.
Etienne Cadestin, founder and global chief executive, said: “Though the country is the fifth largest carbon emitter in the world, Japan has a very ambitious emission reduction programme to halve their emissions by 2030. Longevity’s local team of experts will provide a unique global experience to the local real asset market to meet their climate goals.
“Our ambition is to create plenty of green jobs and employ more than 100 people in the next few years in our Tokyo office, to support our partners and accelerate the region’s decarbonisation efforts.”
The office will be led by Kemmu Kawai, who joins the company as country director for Japan and Asia.
