Dennis Lopez has left Cambridge Place Investment Management (CPIM), the hedge fund manager he joined three years ago as head of real estate.
Lopez, who has resigned from the London and Boston-based business, told EuroProperty sister magazine EG Capital: “I really don’t think I can make any comment at this time.”
Lopez was brought in by CPIM founders Martin Finegold and Bob Kramer in March 2005, two years after the hedge fund business was founded, to build up a direct property arm and provide diversification for investors from its specialist structured credit operation.
Prior to joining CPIM, Lopez was head of European real estate investment banking at JP Morgan.
At the hedge fund manager, he recruited a 20-strong real estate team and set up two direct property vehicles: Crownstone European Properties, a value-added, private equity vehicle that holds nearly €1bn of European offices and EB8, a €1bn high-yielding industrial fund.
