The long-running legal dispute over plans for the regeneration of Londons Crystal Palace is to be decided by the House of Lords.
Local resident Diane Barker is challenging an Appeal Court decision to grant planning consent for development on the site, which, she says, she uses for recreational purposes.
Ms Barker sought judicial review of consent for the scheme on the basis that the requirements for environmental assessments contained in Directive 85/57/EEC had not been properly implemented in UK law by the Town and Country Planning (Assessment of Environmental Effects) Regulations 1998.
The Appeal Court rejected her challenge, and Ms Barker is seeking to appeal against that decision. After a preliminary look at her case, the Law Lords have now referred her application for a hearing.
No date has been set for the hearing.
