The Heritage Lottery Fund’s latest awards include grants for the rejuvenation of listed industrial buildings and restoration of historic town centres. The 70-strong list of successful applicants will receive a total of £13m.
Projects set to benefit from these funds include a feasibility study aimed at finding viable uses for important industrial buildings through public-private sector partnerships.
This study will focus on six pilot projects throughout the UK, including listed warehouses in Wakefield, Sowerby Bridge and Preston.
The Fund has also awarded £227,000 towards the restoration of two historic streets, the Horsemarket and Market Place, in the centre of Middleton-in-Teesdale, Co Durham.
