Louis Vuitton UK is looking to set a new trend by relocating its headquarters from the West End to King’s Cross Central, N1.
The UK subsidiary of the French fashion house is understood to be in advanced negotiations for around 7,000 sq ft on the fifth floor of One St Pancras Square.
The company would be the first luxury goods business to move to the King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership’s 67-acre north London site. It would relocate from 14,000 sq ft at 160 New Bond Street, W1. Bond Street is the traditional home for luxury retailers, including Prada and Chanel.
Louis Vuitton, which Harper Dennis Hobbs is advising, was on the verge of a letting at the Crown Estate’s AirW1 last year, but the HQ search was put on hold by parent LVMH.
The company is believed ?to have been attracted by rents in the region of £60 per sq ft at King’s Cross and the proximity of the Eurostar terminal, enabling easier journeys to its Paris headquarters.
The David Chipperfield Architects-designed One Pancras Square is being let by DTZ and Savills. Firms already committed to King’s Cross include Google and PRS For Music.
