The London School of Economics has bought Cancer Research UK’s Midtown laboratory.
West End sources said the university paid around £75m for 44, 45 and 46 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, WC2.
It put the building up for sale in June ahead of its relocation in 2015 to the Francis Crick Institute in King’s Cross, N1 .
Martin Elmer, property director at Cancer Research UK, said: “We’re delighted to be selling our laboratories at 44 Lincoln’s Inn Fields to the London School of Economics.
“Some of the proceeds will go towards our contribution to the Francis Crick Institute, the remainder will go towards our lifesaving work on cancer.”
BNP Paribas Real Estate acted for the buyer; Gryphon Property Partners represented the vendor.
