Lambert Smith Hampton will launch its first branded auction in Northern Ireland in November as the business seeks to cement its position in the market.
The group, which bought Belfast-based BTWSheills to gain a foothold in the country in the summer, plans to hold four auctions in the city a year. Each auction is expected to have a catalogue valued at around £5m and will comprise residential and commercial lots, mostly from the banks.
Previous auctions by BTWSheills have secured sales percentages in the high 90s. Rising star Daphne Mahon will run the sales.
LSH head of auctions Oliver Childs said: “This helps cement LSH as a rising force in the auctions market. There is a real focus to expand and we believe there is room out there for an alternative choice.”
LSH parent Countrywide holds around 30 auctions a year, with LSH bringing the gavel down at half a dozen auctions in London, alongside the four new auctions in Northern Ireland.
The first sale in Belfast takes place on 21 November.
