LSH loses leading agent in east of England

Lambert Smith Hampton has lost another senior figure from its east of England operation.

Ben Coleman, head of the Northampton office, has quit the firm after 24 years to set up his own practice.

Widely regarded as one of Northampton’s leading office agents, he has headed the LSH Northampton office since a flood of departures throughout last year and early 2004.

Industrial specialist – and former regional executive – John Burbage left in February last year, alongside chairman of the east area Tony Hewitt, to set up his own practice, Burbage Realty.

Vince Owen, regional chief executive in Northampton, left at the same time as Burbage. Richard Coke, who took over as chief executive of the east region following the departures, left in March this year.

A source said: “The office has been through a lot of changes. It’s no surprise that Ben wants to go off on his own.”

Late last year, Burbage also took on two former LSH colleagues – Mark Thomas and James Harrison – for his Northampton-based firm.

LSH said it would recruit a replacement for Coleman.

In the meantime, directors Charles Smedley, Ian Harman and Jon Taylor will cover his role.
