Lucent gets green light for Lincolnshire Lakes development

Lincolnshire-Lakes-570

Strategic site assembly and land development specialist Lucent Group has been given the green light for major residential led development at Lincolnshire Lakes, North Lincolnshire.

Lucent has won outline planning consent today from North Lincolnshire council to develop two new villages at Lincolnshire Lakes. The consent will be granted subject to a legal agreement.

The major Allies & Morrison designed, mixed- use scheme on the outskirts of Scunthorpe will provide 3,000 new homes and two new villages with ancillary retail and leisure facilities. It will also enable Scunthorpe United FC to submit its own plans for a new stadium and improve flood defences for Burringham, Gunness and other existing areas.

Lucent’s proposed development, to the west of Scotter Road, will include a new primary school, youth centre,  community centre,; integrated health centre and commercial space.

A detailed planning application relating to major highways infrastructure for the development has also been approved by the council. This will see the construction of a new junction to the M181 and an east-west link road.

The development forms part of the overall Lincolnshire Lakes project, one of the largest development investment opportunities in the country. Forecast to provide 6,000 new homes, the scheme will accelerate regeneration and inward investment opportunities in the area.

Overall the Lincolnshire Lakes project will provide local infrastructure to support the South Humber Gateway project – a £3bn investment over the next 10 years to create the UK’s largest deep water port.

Scunthorpe United Football Club is preparing proposals for a new stadium which will be integrated with Lucent’s scheme. Design and planning work is underway and a planning application for the football club is expected by the end of the year.
