In a joint venture with Cambridge-based electronics components manufacturer Roxboro Group, Lynton has submitted an outline planning application for a £25m leisure park on the Solartron Works site in Solartron Road near the centre of Farnborough, Hampshire.
The scheme comprises 17,651 sq m (190,000 sq ft) of leisure uses – including a multiplex cinema, family entertainment centre, bowling alley, pubs and restaurants – on a 6.47ha (16 acre) site.
Solartron, which is part of the Roxboro group, has occupied 21,358sq m (230,000sq ft) on the site since the 1960s and is looking to relocate elsewhere in the town. Lisa Skinner, of Rushmore Council’s planning department, said the site’s proximity to the town centre made it an unusual opportunity.
Lynton’s partnership with Solarton reflects its strategy of forming alliances with occupiers, land-owners and institutions for development projects.
Retained agents for the Farnborough scheme are Vail Williams and Egan Lawson.
